How to recycle crayons
Sometimes we don’t know what to do with those broken leftover crayons. Has it happened to you?
Here is a fun activity that you can do on a rainy day with your kids.
All you need to make this activity is:
- Your left over crayons
- A silicone mold like this one.
You can always purchase one with your child’s interest. You are going to make sure that the they are free of the crayon label. We will bake at 350 degrees. Let them cool for about 3 hours and voila! you have your self some cool crayons.
These make a nice size for toddlers and preschoolers to grab and harder to break in half. It is so much fun too! The kids really enjoyed seeing the melting process and outcome of the recycled crayons.
Next time you have left over crayons, do not let them go to waste. Take this time to “do science” with your kids and recycle the crayons in a fun creative way. Include them in the process depending on their age. My 8 and 5 year old really enjoyed the process. Santi, my one year old enjoyed the outcome.
These are are great for birthday party parties and party favors as well. .
